Instrument first aid & care for string teachers with Nick Evans-Pughe

Where: 8 Cavendish Avenue, Cambridge CB1 7US

When: March 10 2.30-5.30pm

Who is it for?: Open to all teachers

Here is an opportunity for string teachers to increase their knowledge of the ‘nuts and bolts’ of string instrument first-aid and care with Nick Evans-Pughe.  Nick, who owns Studio Violins – based in Hitchin, will give a resumé of the types of issues teachers are likely to face with their students’ instruments, what can be done to help, danger signs etc.  – no doubt infused with a dose of humour inspired by the most unexpected problems that he has encountered in a career involving string-instrument care.

There will be practical demonstrations – and teachers will have a chance to try out newly learnt knowledge for themselves. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion too.  No question too small (or too stupid). We will be among friends.

Nick Evans-Pughe works as a string dealer, violin teacher, violinist and is currently Musical Director of the Hitchin Chamber Orchestra and Leader of The Pegari Ensemble.
