Ingrid PerrinIngrid has been gainfully employed as a cellist and cello teacher since completing her BA (hons) in Music at the University of York. She studied with Raphael Wallfisch at Wells Cathedral School and then with Moray Welsh, and despite being adamantly against embarking on a teaching career, has taught cello with great enjoyment for over thirty years, chiefly due to the unmissable opportunity to gain her teaching wings in Tower Hamlets under Sheila Nelson

After an early career mainly as a theatre and dance musician (including on hurdy-gurdy and bowed gamelan), for companies including Second Stride, Lumière and Son, the NT and the RSC, as well as the usual sprinkling of pop sessions and chamber orchestra concerts, Ingrid now lives in Norwich. She teaches for NCYM and Sistema and coaches on residential courses as well as regular gigging with the Astor string quartet and running her own private teaching practice. She is also a qualified and highly experienced massage therapist
