Trinity College London
Trinity College London is an international exam board offering a range of qualifications in music, the performing arts, arts education and English language.
Trinity’s exams, established in 1877, are taken in over 60 countries throughout the world. They are officially recognised by conservatoires, universities and employers as an international benchmark of quality.
The Trinity Strings syllabus for 2016-2019 (Initial – Grade 8) is designed with the flexibility to allow for varied learning and teaching styles and includes a wide range of repertoire lists from classic to contemporary pieces.
The ATCL, LTCL and FTCL Performance Diplomas are the most advanced performance awards offered by Trinity College London. They follow on from the Grade and Certificate exams, taking musicians up to a truly professional standard of performance and musical understanding. A new performance diploma syllabus will be released in December 2018. Performance requirements, including own-choice options, will remain largely unchanged.
New publications from Trinity College London Press, available now to buy, from the Trinity College London shop:
• "Take your Bow" – 20 concert pieces for beginner strings players written by experienced teachers, Celia Cobb and Naomi Yandell. Available for violin, viola, cello and double bass.
• "Raise the Bar" – anthologies for Violin containing repertoire from previous grade syllabuses, together with teaching notes by Anna Dryer-Beers. Designed for use alongside exam preparation or simply for pleasure, the books provide an essential resource for musicians looking to broaden their repertoire.
Trinity has launched a new Music Resources site designed to help teachers and candidates preparing for exams — from video and audio to handouts and booklets. Why not sign up to receive updates as new resources are added?
